Today is house cleaning day, and I just HAD to let you guys know that I am listening to one of my all time favorite records; Harry Belafonte, Live at Carnegie Hall. I am so happy we finally hooked up the turn table in the living room, because it has been awhile since I have indulged in my record collection. This is a wonderful recording that includes “Mama Look a Booboo”, “Man Smart (Woman Smarter”), “Day-O”, and my favorite; “Hava Nageela”! Seriously! Cell Phones and Sleep

Some experiments seems to suggest that using a cell phone before going to bed can make it more difficult to fall asleep. It seems that the radio waves can mess with the mind and excite it. The effect is fairly subtle and is about equivalent to drinking half a cup of coffee, but still something to consider if you are having trouble going to sleep.

Customizable things are my new favorite. It probably stems from the constant disappointment of never being able to find any personalized pencil kits with my name on them when I was a kid. Keds now lets you design your own shoes with images you can upload and using their colors and patterns. They start at $60, but you can save the image of shoes you make without buying them. My new favorite website (or feed, via Google Reader, for my with-it tech peeps) is White Wine, which posts a new white person complaint for every day of the week. As if we needed any, but these are HILARIOUS and real. Apparently you just e-mail your over- privileged, arrogant and ironic bitching to the webmaster, et voila! Another WASP bytes the dust. Among my favorites are:
